• The Province of Ontario announced it will continue to rely on 50 per cent nuclear energy. This includes refurbishment of 10 reactors (Darlington and Bruce) and a commitment to build two new reactors totalling approximately 2000 MW

• Registered delegates to the 2009 INLA Congress in Toronto should be receiving mail delivery of the proceedings in written and electronic format. The discs capture presentation slides for those who did not submit written articles.

• Federal Court decides that CNSC has statutory authority and expertise to deal with Aboriginal consultation on behalf of the Crown re: Athabasca Regional Government, Attorneys General of Canada and Saskatchewan, CNSC and Areva Resources Canada

• The Nuclear Liability and Compensation Act was re-introduced in Parliament as Bill C-15. Second reading took place on May 13th and the Bill now moves to the House of Commons Committee on Natural Resources for hearings targeted for June.
